danish duo laid back made a most surprising comeback to the clubs in 2010 with >cocaine cool<. not that they had ever been really forgotten: their electro pop classic >white horse< remained a sure shot in clubs for the thirty years after its release 30 years back and a constant inspiration to boatload of diverse artists from techno to hip-hop. >cocaine cool< was recorded at the same session but the ironic vocals ridiculing label executives blowing up their frail ego with the chemical substance were deemed to risquee at that time, so the recording collected dust in some box until last year. bostons >soul clap< another duo hailed as one of the hotest things in clubland known for their eclectic funk-rooted taste. they opt for a cool sparser arrangement leaving out the “white horse -like chords. a loose, dry electro funk beat, hpynotic one-note synth, few dub effects and additional vocoder vocals do the trick bravorously. besides an instrumental version theres also a harder jacking dub take sounding like early chicago house edits. and while the boys are add it they also re-edited another huge one from laid back: >baker man< that managed the unlikely balancing act of not only hitting it bigtime in the charts but also in the emerging balearic scene. this 12 inch is cool in every which way!

the year is 2010. mechanisms industries re-emerges from the tape studio after a hiatus and reconfiguration in preparation for the new release entitled antikythera mechanism. the antikythera mechanism is an ancient mechanical computer designed to calculate astronomical positions. for our purposes, we have re-calibrated the antikythera mechanism to calculate and assist in the programming of three deep, dark rhythmic techno tracks.

m=minmal continues the collaboration with electronic music legend conrad schnitzler. we are happy, after 30 years, to re-release one of the key works from conrads large adventurous backcatalog. >ballet statique< is not only a musical milestone but also a highlight of music production. it was recorded in 1978 at the legendary paragon studio / berlin by peter baumann - tangerine dream in the same period when other masterworks like cluster - >großes wasser< and solo recordings of roedelius and asmus tietchens were recorded. >ballet statique< was first released on the legendary french label egg. this albums is a must have not only for fans of the emeralds and oneohtrix point never.

act re act: daaaaark is the typical expression used to define act re act. uplfting synths, spastic latin percussion, and a pummeling 808 bring some light for the harder moments.
ms. minnie: kitty ms. minnie, age 39, was caught saturday evening sneaking a 909 into the club and having her way with the hi-hats. she ripped it up in honor of larry heard before being forcefully removed by security. the whereabouts of said 909 are unknown.
the origin: a minimal bit of italo kit shoved through the hatch of a nasa shuttle (it was recorded in houston, tx after-all) and sent around several moons of several planets. what was discovered is only now being made available for public consumption.

great circles, the label run by the same people who host the inciting parties in philadelphia let loose their second 12 inch release. this one features tony g whose tous la part le même sort lures the listener in with a deceptive sleight of hand before locking in to a spacious groove. all jacking bass and dusted chord progressions, this is the sort of luxuriant burner perfectly primed for after hours dance floors. three diverse remixes from jason carr, andrew joseph and hero/victim demonstrate the vast talent thats been rocking philly warehouses and lofts for the past few years. limited to 250 copies for the world.

milan based heels of love is made up of luca saponaro (from krautrock-disco hybrids the love supreme) and michele tessadri (aka fratelli riviera). the pair of them create incredible 80s-tinged, earthy, synthesized music with healthy dose of real instruments. after some nifty releases on mad on the moon and under the shade labels we are pleased to welcome them to the nang family. with an lp poised to drop later in the year, the welcome first dose is the train >chain gang<.
the track features the dulcet (and ever growing in confidence) vocals of tokyo based max essa. the original is a pacey combination of maxs devoesque song, driving drums and the wide-as analog bass synth from the italian duo. are we men? we certainly are.
